The Old School in Dean Village

Fabulous stay in stunning location Positive: The location was fantastic. The property was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed. Everything was within walking distance. The host, Marco, was fabulous. Very helpful with check in and check out flexibility and very knowledgeable about the local area, which made our weekend even more enjoyable. We would definitely stay here again.

Positive: Lovely location in Dean village. Recommend walking along the river both directions are very interesting. Stockbridge one way and the other direction of Murrayfield Stadium. You can walk to Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art (Modern One) and Modern Two, located just a short walk away on Belford Road. These, along with the nearby Dean Gallery, are easily accessed from the village via the Water of Leith walkway. Used washing machine, dishwasher with detergents tablets provided. Shower gel, shampoo, teabags, and biscuits were nice touches Nice towels and a big bathroom with shower and bath The apartment is split over 3 floors, which made it interesting. We walked to Edinburgh Castle from here and found it was a short walk to a tram stop called WEST END. You can go into the city or to the airport, and we got a 5 day ticket tram ticket online. Would certainly come back, there is quite a lot you can do here. Negative: Walking up the hill to get out of the village was a good exercise. Struggled to find access to keys as we arrived late in the dark, and there were several key locks to choose from, and we tried them all. Oven was hard to use as numbers had rubbed off, so I had to use it by guessing the temperature. Area can get busy with tourists taking photographs of the building, but it did not cause too much of an issue
